YOUR ROLE
As a Business Development Manager at Capgemini Engineering, you will play a key role in driving business growth in the Portuguese market, with accountability for the Go‑to‑Market and business development of the Engineering portfolio.Acting as a transversal business developer, you will work closely with multiple Sales, Pre‑Sales, Delivery teams and technology partners to identify, develop and close complex opportunities, ensuring consistent positioning and value creation across the portfolio.
Your responsibilities include:
- Owning and executing the Go‑to‑Market strategy for the Engineering portfolio in Portugal.
- Identifying, qualifying and developing new business opportunities across Engineering, Industry, Digital and R&D services.
- Proactively engaging the market with a strong hunter mindset, building and sustaining a healthy and structured pipeline.
- Working closely with multiple Sales teams to jointly sell the full Capgemini Engineering portfolio.
- Acting as a key interface between clients, partners and internal teams (sales, pre‑sales, engineering, delivery).Supporting pre‑sales and sales capture activities, contributing to solution shaping, proposal strategy and value propositions.
- Developing and managing technology partnerships, including joint go‑to‑market initiatives.
- Understanding client challenges and translating them into technical‑commercial solutions with clear business value.
- Maintaining strong market awareness, particularly in industrial and engineering‑driven contexts.
- Closely monitoring market trends and opportunities in sectors such as Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing and Industry (experience valued but not mandatory).
- 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management or Sales Capture, preferably in B2B environments.
- Strong knowledge of the Portuguese market and local business dynamics.
- Proven experience working with complex portfolios and transversal offerings, beyond single‑product or single‑service sales.
- Background or strong exposure to industrial, engineering or technology‑driven environments.
- Experience in technology partner management and ecosystem‑based sales models.
- Ability to coordinate and influence across multiple sales teams and stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with the ability to engage in technical‑level conversations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- High level of autonomy, proactivity and resilience, with a results‑driven mindset.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory.
