About Us

Nova is a new generation payment network, poised to disrupt Visa and Mastercard, by leveraging real time payment infrastructures like Brazil's Pix & Open Finance for all daily transactions.

The company empowers consumers to pay anything, any way they like, in any installment number, regardless of what payment options are available at checkout.

It's building a layer on top of Pix & Open Finance to improve last-mile payment functionalities such as financing (credit and installments), fraud protection (chargebacks and insurance) and friction (tap to pay for consumers, high auth rates for merchants).

Nova was founded at the end of 2023 by an elite team of fintech veterans. It just raised a Series A with leading venture capital funds and is now expanding its team.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an outstanding product manager to join our team, as such you'll play a pivotal role in:

• Owning the vision and roadmap for our checkout product;
• Taking the product from early prototype to first scaled merchants, building the playbook that turns one design partner into ten, then a hundred;
• Designing the experience on both sides — a frictionless flow for shoppers and a clean integration for merchants;
• Partnering deeply with engineering to ship the integrations, SDKs, and APIs that developers actually want to use;
• Leading discovery with merchants and shoppers to deeply understand checkout drop-off, conversion levers, and what unlocks adoption on both sides of the marketplace;
• Going from 0 to 1 on every meaningful piece of the product, with minimal precedent to copy from;
• Driving the metrics that matter — merchant signups, conversion rate, transaction volume, and shopper repeat usage;
• Shaping our product culture, championing user obsession, sharp thinking, and a bias for shipping.

Ideal Profile

Academic

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business and Economics or related fields

Professional

• Required 5–10 years of experience at top-tier fintechs or payment infrastructure companies known for engineering and product excellence
• Preferred experience building checkout, payment orchestration, or merchant-facing payment products
• Preferred experience in Brazillian Fintechs/financial companies such as Pagaleve, Barte, NuPay/SpinPay, Drip, CloudWalk and Stripe
• Preferred experience with closed-loop payment arrangements, alternative payment methods, or BNPL at the checkout
• Preferred track record of taking products from 0 to 1, ideally in B2B or B2B2C settings with hands-on merchant integration work
• Preferred technical fluency to work closely with engineering on API and SDK design

Success Track Record

• Preferred graduated from top schools and/or with top grades
• Preferred participated and/or won in competitions, received work-related awards
• Preferred active leader in the community, has published articles, given lectures etc.
• Preferred other demonstrable proofs of ambition, intelligence and/or resilience
