Lead, Grow & Expand Strategic Retail Partnerships
Drive enterprise sales performance while building long-term customer success.
- Drive Revenue Growth: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual volume, revenue, and profitability objectives through strategic sales execution
- Lead Strategic Account Management: Manage complex retail and national accounts while strengthening executive-level customer relationships
- Develop Sales Strategies: Create and execute short- and long-term sales plans aligned with divisional and enterprise growth objectives
- Own the Full Sales Cycle: Lead prospecting, customer engagement, pricing discussions, negotiations, and contract execution
- Expand Market Opportunities: Identify and secure target accounts aligned with transportation and supply chain profitability strategies
- Represent the Business: Deliver customer presentations, participate in trade shows, and conduct operational tours to support business development
- Lead Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate pricing structures, commercial agreements, and multi-year contracts
- Analyze Revenue Impact: Evaluate short- and long-term impacts of pricing strategies and market conditions
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Pricing, Logistics, Operations, Shared Services, and leadership teams to support customer success
- Develop Strategic Account Plans: Build account-specific growth strategies to ensure consistent revenue and volume expansion
- Support Sales Initiatives: Guide account managers and sales teams on customer strategy, profitability analysis, and competitive positioning
- Manage Forecasting & Reporting: Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, pipeline reports, and sales performance presentations
- Strengthen Executive Relationships: Build trusted partnerships with key decision makers and senior customer stakeholders
- Lead Knowledge Transfer: Maintain detailed account documentation and coordinate smooth account transitions when needed
- Train Operational Teams: Support Shared Services and Operations teams with customer requirements, contract details, and onboarding needs
- Utilize Business Intelligence Tools: Leverage Salesforce and reporting tools to manage sales performance, customer activity, and forecasting
- Mentor & Support Teams: Provide guidance and leadership to account managers and inside sales teams on strategic accounts
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, customer experience, and operational collaboration
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- MBA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressively responsible commercial account management experience
- Required experience in container shipping sales and transportation or supply chain management
- Experience leading, mentoring, or managing account managers preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required
- Advanced negotiation and contract management expertise
- Strong understanding of transportation, shipping, and commercial sales strategy
- Ability to analyze market trends and drive multi-year growth initiatives
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and motivate teams
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Business Intelligence tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Work Environment
Corporate office environment with up to 40% travel to U.S. locations, including Hawaii.

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: SEAL BEACH, CA. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: $160,000 - $180,000
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 20% eligible compensation
