【Recruitment Background】

The company is looking for an Engineering Manager to maximize the value of its Generative AI-based products and support its rapidly growing business.


In a rapidly expanding development organization, there are a wide range of issues to be addressed, including improving the productivity of the engineering team, training members, strengthening recruitment efforts, and resolving technical issues. Another important mission is to improve product quality and efficiency through system architecture design and development process improvement.


The company is looking for someone who can provide leadership to solve these challenges and lead the engineering organization to success.


【Responsibilities】

Strategic design and management of engineering organization

Lead the strategic design and management of the engineering organization that supports product development

Set short-, medium-, and long-term goals for the team and develop a roadmap for achieving them

Identifies technical issues, proposes and implements solutions, and improves the technical capabilities of the entire organization

Team Management

Conduct member development, goal setting, and evaluation of engineering teams

Ensure psychological safety of the team and create an environment that allows members to perform at their maximum potential

Facilitate and coordinate collaboration among teams to ensure smooth project progress

Recruitment and Training

Leading the recruitment of talented engineers and securing personnel to support the growth of the organization

Designing onboarding of new members and establishing a system to turn them into a competitive force at an early stage

Support long-term growth by helping members improve their skills and clarify their career paths

Design system architecture

Design system architecture to optimize product quality, cost, and delivery (QCD)

Utilize the latest technologies to build scalable and efficient systems

Development Process Improvement

Streamline the development process through the introduction of agile development methods and CI/CD design

Improve product quality by establishing code review and test automation mechanisms

Technical Leadership

Support members to improve their technical skills by conducting coding and code reviews as needed

Lead technical decision making and clarify the direction of product development


【Development Environment】

Language: Python (Framework), TypeScript / React / Next.js (Front-end)

Infrastructure: GCP (containers / K8s), Docker

Tools: Slack, Confluence, Jira, Google Workspace, GitHub, etc.

Work environment: Mac (Apple silicon), dual monitor support, in-house GPT tools and AI assistants such as GitHub Copilot available


【Team Organization】

There are about 30 engineers on the team. (Collaboration divided into multiple core development teams)

【Required】

Experience managing a team of 5+ engineers

Experience working on organizational improvements and building a good working environment to improve overall team performance

Experience with front-end (JavaScript, React, etc.) and back-end (Python, Java, etc.) development

Experience leading system architecture design and technical decision making

Experience implementing agile development methodologies and CI/CD

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)

Experience identifying and leading the resolution of technical and organizational issues

Ability to collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the team to drive projects forward

Japanese (Fluent) : Able to discuss product development and customer negotiations without conflict


【Preferred】

Interest in AI/ML, chatGPT, or other technologies

Certification in AI/ML, project management, or leadership related certifications

Experience working in a multinational environment, leadership or management

Ability to keep up with the latest technology trends and return knowledge and expertise to the organization

English (business level)
