Junior Product Developer (m/f/d) - Berlin

We are searching for a Junior Product Developer (m/f/x) - Berlin to drive the physical product portfolio of AVA & MAY into the future: from special editions, line extensions to entirely new collections and categories.

Your tasks

• Support the product roadmap from concept to production, eventually taking full ownership of specific categories and ensuring all developments meet brand quality benchmarks.
• Draft comprehensive creative briefings and oversee the entire packaging design lifecycle, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and brand alignment.
• Lead rigorous hands-on prototype testing (burn/stress/durability tests) to identify flaws early and manage the physical sample library.
• Manage master product data and material specifications, while overseeing essential admin tasks like approval workflows, decks, and knowledge repositories.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and transform launch data into actionable insights to optimise product quality and identify scaling opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product launches.

• Strong verbal and written English skills, with the ability to translate product ideas into clear, actionable requirements for internal & external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs) and experience with project management tools like Asana or Confluence is highly preferred.
• Highly organised with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. You are comfortable pivoting between high-level project tracking and hands-on physical tasks, such as unboxing and sample organisation.
• As this role involves daily quality control of scented products, you must have a keen sense of smell and the ability to handle fragrance ingredients and raw materials safely and consistently without sensitivity
• Proven experience in a similar role (fragrance, beauty, or home decor) with the ability to navigate complex development cycles.
• Prior experience in a high-growth start-up environment is highly preferred.
