About Scorebuddy
Scorebuddy is a leading Quality Management SaaS platform for Contact Centres. By combining quality management, coaching and learning with advanced AI Analytics, we help hundreds of customers worldwide to be operationally efficient, scale their contact centres, improve agent performance, and enhance overall customer experience.
We are a globally successful SaaS company, serving a diverse international customer base with teams ranging in size from 20 to 20,000 end users.
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team on a fixed-term basis of nine months, with a possibility to extend, to cover a period of maternity leave on our Customer Engineering squad. Customer Engineering is the front line between our customers and our engineering organisation, taking ownership of incoming issues and feature requests and turning them into shipped improvements. You will report to our Head of Customer Engineering and work closely with the rest of the squad on a healthy mix of customer-driven work and proactive product care.
The squad sits at the intersection of customer success, product and engineering, which makes this one of the most interesting seats in the company. You will partner closely with our customer success managers, our product team and the wider engineering squads to understand what our customers are running into, ship the fix or the small feature, and feed your findings back into the longer-term roadmap. Our stack is modern and varied, spanning PHP with Slim, Python with Flask, VueJS 3, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and AWS, with CI/CD on Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
This is a role with real reach. You will see issues across every corner of our platform, which gives you the opportunity to spot trends, prevent whole classes of bugs, and meaningfully improve the experience of contact centre teams using Scorebuddy every day. As we continue to scale globally, the work you do here will compound, both for our customers and for the product itself.
What You’ll Do
- Handle bug reports and featurettes from both customer and internal sources, taking them from triage through to delivery
- Communicate with stakeholders on ongoing work and outcomes, keeping customers and internal teams informed throughout the lifecycle of an issue
- Take a proactive mindset, finding ways to prevent bugs before they occur rather than only reacting to them • Analyse trends in incoming issues to identify problem areas in the software and feed those findings back into the product roadmap
- Support both the squad and the wider engineering team on ongoing projects as priorities shift
- Work across the stack, from VueJS 3 front-ends through to PHP, Python and the database layer, using the right tool for the job
- Contribute to our CI/CD pipelines and AWS-hosted infrastructure where the work calls for it
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience in a product environment • Strong commercial experience with PHP, ideally using the Slim framework
- Strong commercial experience with modern JavaScript, particularly VueJS 3
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL) and a working familiarity with MongoDB
- Experience with Python, ideally using Flask
- Working knowledge of AWS for day-to-day development and debugging
- Experience with CI/CD tooling, specifically Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset and the judgement to know when to fix the symptom versus the root cause
Nice To Have
- Exposure to Go, which we are adopting across an increasing share of our microservices
- A keen interest in AI and/or NLP development, with a willingness to grow in that direction
- Prior experience in a contact centre, quality management or customer support domain
- Exposure to LLM tooling or applied machine learning in a production setting
Education & Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and performance-based bonus • Hybrid working with modern offices located in Dublin city
- 25 paid holidays annually
- Subsidised gym membership and free on-site gym
- Webdoctor online GP service access
- Taxsaver tickets & Cycle to Work schemes
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and sick leave pay
- Access to Irish Life PRSA, salary sacrifice
