In this role, you will play a key part in delivering our Packaging Strategy across Innovation, Renovation, Sustainability and Value Creation programs. You will support packaging development across Supply Units and Copackers, manage technical packaging projects, lead factory trials, and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to bring high‑quality packaging solutions to life.

This is a hands‑on, technical role where your expertise will directly impact product quality, operational efficiency and sustainability ambitions across Nomad Foods.

About the Role

Project & Technical Leadership:

• Lead packaging development projects across Supply Units and Copackers, ensuring on-time delivery aligned with agreed critical paths.
• Represent RDQ Packaging within cross‑functional teams to deliver innovations, renovations, value creation and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure packaging executions are technically robust, compliant, cost‑effective and aligned to brand and factory capabilities.
• Manage process documentation including specifications, technical data, packaging BOMs, pallet configurations and approval workflows.

Factory Trials & Testing

• Lead line, packing, transit and storage trials including planning, briefing and reporting.
• Ensure completion of all required trial activities, data validation, risk assessments and post‑trial testing programmes.
• Support troubleshooting and problem solving across materials, machinery and supply chain interactions.

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement

• Apply strong expertise in packaging materials, manufacturing processes and supply chains to optimise solutions.
• Ensure packaging conforms with internal Policies, Packaging Code of Practice, legal requirements and local regulations.
• Identify opportunities for harmonisation, standardisation, simplification and cost savings.
• Support sustainability and productivity programmes through materials knowledge and design improvements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with RDQ colleagues, Supply Units, Procurement, Quality, Marketing and external partners.
• Share technical insights, collaborate proactively and contribute to the Packaging Community of Practice.
• Support knowledge transfer, documentation accuracy and compliance across teams.

About you:

We’re looking for a Packaging Developer with a passion for packaging innovation and strong hands‑on technical capability. You will be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, managing multiple projects and engaging confidently across cross‑functional teams. • Degree in Food Science, Materials Science, Engineering or related technical field
• — OR 2+ years’ experience in FMCG packaging development.
• Diploma in Packaging Technology (or equivalent) – highly beneficial.
• Understanding of local packaging regulations and legal labelling requirements – advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
• English proficiency (including technical terminology).
• Valid driving licence.
