Senior FullStack Developer

NOTE: must be living/residing in Ireland at present

The Client | EMEA (Ireland) remote

REMOTE role anywhere in Ireland

You’ll be the senior technical owner of the Client’s high-traffic e-commerce storefronts. This is a hands-on, full-stack role covering front-end, back-end, integrations, and deployments across WordPress/WooCommerce and Shopify.

You’ll set technical standards, mentor developers, make key architectural decisions, and work closely with designers, project managers, sales teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performing storefronts.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End & UI Development

• Build and maintain responsive WooCommerce and Shopify themes

• Ensure strong performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and cross-browser compatibility

• Establish and maintain front-end coding standards

Back-End & Server-Side

• Develop custom WordPress plugins, reusable components, and APIs

• Build server-side logic using PHP and Node.js

• Own WooCommerce database performance, schema, and migrations

• Extend Shopify using custom sections, metafields, functions, and apps

API & Integrations

• Design and maintain integrations with payment, ERP, CRM, inventory, and marketing systems

• Build and consume REST (and occasional GraphQL) APIs

• Manage data flows between e-commerce platforms and third-party services

DevOps & Environment Management

• Manage multiple WordPress and Shopify environments

• Own deployment pipelines from staging to production

• Improve CI/CD workflows, version control, testing, and monitoring

Technical Leadership

• Mentor developers and lead code reviews

• Drive architectural decisions and platform migrations

• Contribute to pre-sales scoping, estimates, and client meetings

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools

Quality, Documentation & Growth

• Maintain clear technical documentation and runbooks

• Stay current with PHP, WordPress, Shopify, headless commerce, and AI tools

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years full-stack web development experience (2+ years senior/lead)

• Strong PHP & MySQL skills; REST API design experience (preferably PHP 8+)

• Strong WordPress & WooCommerce expertise

• Hands-on Shopify experience (Plus preferred)

• Expert HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+)

• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and deployment workflows

• Confident communicator with leadership experience

Nice-to-Have

• Shopify or WordPress app development

• Headless / composable commerce experience

• AI-assisted development tools

Education

• Degree in Computer Science / Masters or equivalent experience 7+ years

• Relevant certifications are a plus
