About The Role
Tycho.AI is looking for an Electrical Engineer with specialization in board development and RF to join our hardware team and support the design and development of our air vehicles. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in electrical architecture design and PCB design, with RF integration skills to help design, build, and deploy the hardware that powers our autonomous systems. This role is hands-on and ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking designs from concept through prototype, test, and production.
Responsibilities
- Select components based on mission, electrical, thermal, and mechanical needs.
- Design electrical board assemblies.
- Perform board layout, sourcing and purchasing, programming, testing, and debug.
- Perform RF link budget and bandwidth analyses based on mission needs.
- Select components and design RF chain.
- Implement encoding and compression algorithms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
- Experience with Altium.
- Working knowledge of RF hardware: radios, software-defined radios, antennas, amplifiers, etc.
- Working knowledge of compression algorithms and encoding methods.
- Willingness to perform field testing of RF components
- Experience with SDR
- Experience with GNSS
- Experience with FPGAs
- Experience with radars
- Experience with optical sensors
- Comfort with Jira
