Medical Billing and Appeals Specialist

We are looking for a Medical Billing & Appeals Specialist to assist with appeals submission for denied claims and support day-to-day billing operations. This role is ideal for someone with foundational billing knowledge who is eager to learn and grow. Key

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and submitting appeals for denied medical claims Review EOBs and error codes to understand claim denials Support accurate use of CPT and ICD codes under guidance Assist with claims processing related to workers’ compensation carriers Help with other billing and administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

Basic understanding of medical billing and appeals processes Familiarity with CPT and ICD codes Ability to review EOBs and denial/error codes Good written communication and typing skills Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Preferred: Exposure to Pain Management or Imaging specialties Prior experience in medical billing or revenue cycle roles Minimum Technical and Work Environment Requirements: Internet Connection: Primary internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps . Backup internet connection with at least 10 Mbps . Backup connection must be capable of supporting work during a power outage. Primary Device: Desktop or laptop equipped with at least: Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer) , Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer) , AMD Ryzen 5 , or an equivalent processor. A minimum of 8 GB RAM . Backup Device: Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor. Must be functional during power interruptions. A functioning webcam . A noise-canceling USB headset . A quiet, dedicated home office space . Peripherals and Workspace: A smartphone for communication and verification purposes.
