Role Overview
We’re looking for an early-career Account Manager to help support and grow relationships with existing Downstream customers. This is a great opportunity for someone with some sales, customer success, or account management experience who wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
In this role, you’ll work with current customers to help them get the most value from Downstream’s platform and services. You’ll focus on account retention, identifying growth opportunities, re-engaging past customers, and supporting customers across our full range of offerings, including site services, waste, and equipment solutions.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team and will have the chance to build strong client relationships, learn a consultative sales process, and grow your career in account management.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts
- Build relationships with customers and act as a trusted point of contact
- Support account retention by helping customers find the right solutions for their ongoing needs
- Identify opportunities to expand accounts across additional services, locations, or markets
- Re-engage former customers and help bring them back onto the platform
- Conduct regular outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, and occasional in-person meetings
- Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Learn Downstream’s full product and service catalog and match solutions to customer needs
- Track account activity, customer needs, and growth opportunities in company systems
Activity Expectations
This role includes a consistent weekly outreach cadence to maintain strong customer relationships and uncover growth opportunities.
Typical weekly activity includes:
- 75–100 calls
- 75 emails
- 30 LinkedIn touchpoints
- 1–3 in-person meetings
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, account management, customer success, business development, or a related customer-facing role
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with proactive outreach by phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Organized and able to manage multiple customer conversations at once
- Eager to learn, coachable, and excited to grow in a sales/account management career
- Helpful, solutions-oriented mindset
- Experience working with B2B customers is a plus
- Experience in construction, waste, logistics, marketplaces, or equipment rental is a plus, but not required
Who You’ll Work With
This role focuses on supporting current customers, especially those with recurring service needs and opportunities to grow across multiple offerings or markets. You’ll work with customers using a mix of services such as site support, waste solutions, and light/heavy equipment.

Location
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to commute to Downstream’s headquarters in Richardson, TX.
