Senior Account Manager (Commercial Lines)

You’ll manage and help build a small to middle market commercial book, working closely with producers while maintaining a high degree of autonomy in marketing, renewals, and client advising.
This role is ideal for an experienced commercial AM who enjoys complexity, values stability, and wants to work in a collaborative, well-supported environment—without sales quotas or long hours.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and help build a generalist book of small to middle market commercial accounts
- Lead renewals, remarketing, and proposal preparation
- Analyze coverages and advise clients on risks, exposures, and coverage options
- Market accounts to carriers and negotiate terms as needed
- Present coverage recommendations directly to clients
- Maintain accurate, organized documentation in the agency management system
- Collaborate with producers, assistants, and internal teams while retaining ownership of your work
- 3+ years of Commercial Lines experience in an independent agency
- Experience managing a commercial book (not just assisting)
- Strong understanding of coverages, carrier appetite, and placement strategy
- Comfortable owning renewals and client-facing conversations
- California commercial insurance experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Applied EPIC or similar AMS is a plus
- CA Property & Casualty license preferred (can be obtained if recently expired)
