Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Java/AI Engineer to join the Enterprise Data & Solutions Engineering team supporting enterprise-scale application modernization and AI-enabled engineering initiatives. This role will focus heavily on hands-on Java engineering, microservices development, AI integration, and cloud-native application delivery within a highly collaborative agile environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise across Java, Spring Boot, AI-assisted development tools, microservices architecture, and enterprise application performance optimization. This position will play a key role in designing scalable APIs, integrating AI capabilities into application workflows, and supporting modern DevOps and CI/CD engineering practices. The role is based in Lake Mary, FL and requires 4 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Java & Microservices Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices, APIs, and distributed applications following modern engineering standards and architectural best practices.
• AI Integration & Engineering Enablement: Support integration of AI capabilities into enterprise applications, including prompt orchestration, inference workflows, embeddings/vector search, and AI-assisted engineering tooling such as CoPilot, Claude Code, and Windsurf.
• Architecture & Technical Leadership: Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions while contributing to coding standards, solution design, code reviews, and production readiness assessments.
• Cloud-Native & DevOps Delivery: Build and support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps workflows leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment strategies.
• Database & Performance Optimization: Design and optimize resilient data access patterns within Oracle and other relational databases, including schema design, query tuning, transaction management, and performance optimization.
• Operational Excellence & Reliability: Support performance benchmarking, threat modeling, monitoring, rollout/rollback strategies, and application scalability initiatives to ensure secure and resilient production systems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Platform Engineering, Security, AI/Data teams, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to support enterprise modernization and AI-focused technical initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and scalable application development.
• Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of AI application concepts including prompt engineering, AI agent architecture, vector search, embeddings, or RAG workflows.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience including Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
• Strong Oracle or relational database expertise including SQL, stored procedures, transaction management, and performance tuning.
• Experience with job scheduling and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Autosys, or Control-M.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills within agile engineering environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Financial services or enterprise platform engineering experience.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Experience designing scalable cloud-native application architectures.
• Exposure to performance benchmarking, production readiness reviews, and application security practices.
• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments.
