Software Developer (#5399)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is building a team to support a major public sector client in delivering software design, development, integration, and modernization services across a complex enterprise environment. This role will focus on application systems, including systems of engagement and systems of record, with responsibilities across design, prototyping, development, unit testing, integration, and production support.

This is an opportunity to work on complex and highly integrated systems in an Agile and DevOps environment, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, technical leadership, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and prototype application components
• Support software development for systems of engagement and/or systems of record
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and integration requirements
• Participate in unit testing, system integration, production support, and problem resolution
• Work on complex development assignments within highly integrated environments
• Lead and participate in activities that support team delivery and continuous improvement
• Mentor team members and contribute to a respectful, collaborative team culture
• Provide just-in-time feedback, coaching, and guidance to improve team effectiveness
• Facilitate outcomes and influence decisions without formal authority
• Help create or re-establish collaborative, credible, and high-functioning teams
• Use Agile and DevOps tools, techniques, and processes to support delivery
• May participate in rotational on-call support as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related discipline
• 6–9 years of equivalent IT work experience
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with Agile methodologies, cloud, DevOps environments, continuous process improvement, IT development, unit testing, production support, problem resolution, analysis, and/or technical proficiency
• Extensive experience leading the development lifecycle, including design, development, integration, testing, and prototyping
• Extensive experience participating in activities that support team delivery
• Ability to work in highly complex and integrated environments
• Extensive experience using Agile and DevOps tools, techniques, and processes
• Experience with Microsoft stack technologies and frameworks, including .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, jQuery, Angular, HTML, CSS, XUnit, NUnit, Entity Framework, TDD, and Git
• SAFe training and certification, such as SAFe Practitioner
