Software Engineer - Full Stack

The Opportunity
We're hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to help build and evolve the systems that power Grow Therapy's platform. In this role, you'll work across the stack to design, implement, and ship features that directly impact how clients and providers connect, communicate, and access care.
You'll join a collaborative, product-focused engineering organization where technical work is closely tied to learning, iteration, and real-world outcomes. This role is ideal for an engineer who takes pride in writing clean, maintainable code, thinks deeply about system behavior, and is energized by the opportunity to grow alongside a fast-moving team.
Why This Role Matters
Access to mental healthcare in America is still deeply fragmented and Grow Therapy is building the platform to fix that. We connect clients, providers, and health plans in a single integrated system, and the software our engineers ship directly shapes whether people can find and afford the care they need.
We're growing fast - nearly 22,000 clinicians, over 1.4 million clients, and on track to surpass 10 million sessions in 2026 and we see ourselves as a generational company with a long way still to go. Engineers who join now have a real opportunity to build systems that matter at meaningful scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, implement, and ship customer-facing features that span frontend and backend systems
- Own the full lifecycle of your work - from scoping and implementation through testing, deployment, and iteration
- Contribute to and improve core platform systems, including those related to discovery, scheduling, transactions, and user experience
- Implement and support A/B tests and experiments, from hypothesis through measurement and rollout
- Investigate, triage, and resolve production incidents and complex cross-system bugs
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code and take an active role in code reviews
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data to deliver well-scoped, measurable solutions
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions within your team
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining production systems at scale
- Comfortable working across backend APIs and frontend interfaces, with hands-on experience in Python and modern React/TypeScript
- Experience working on systems where data quality, correctness, and performance matter
- Strong execution skills and the ability to deliver scoped work independently
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn complex systems and new problem domains
- A product-minded approach - you understand how technical decisions impact user experience and business outcomes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working closely with cross-functional partners including Product, Design, and Data Science
- Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor)
- A bias toward ownership, speed, learning, and continuous improvement
Care Quality - The Care Quality team builds the data and workflows Grow uses to prove and improve the clinical quality of care to payors and partners. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll develop systems that capture measures, structure documentation, and surface insights so we can demonstrate outcomes and power value-based partnerships.
Client Activation – The Client Activation team owns the fragile moments between booking and a client’s first few sessions, making starting care feel clear, reliable, and supportive. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll build and harden systems for scheduling, authentication, notifications, and early-journey flows that directly determine whether clients show up, come back for visit two, and build lasting relationships with their providers
Client Engagement - The Client Engagement team owns the experiences that keep clients connected between and across sessions—web and app surfaces, notifications, and core journeys. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll ship features that help clients stay on track with care plans, manage appointments, and stay engaged long after their first visit.
Coverage & Payments Experience - The Payments Experience team owns the client-facing financial journey, from eligibility checks and cost estimates to charging cards and handling balances. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll build systems that make insurance coverage understandable, reduce billing surprises, and keep the money flow trustworthy for both clients and providers.
