This super progressive FINANCIAL SERVICES INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT firm is growing their engineering team and is looking for "Senior Data Engineer" that will function almost at a 'Data Architect' or 'Lead Data Engineer'-level and will be responsible for leading end-to-end implementation of projects. Must have 10 or more years of experience and designed and led the end-to-end implementation of projects.
As a member of the Science Research Technology team, this individual will help design, build, and scale data-driven solutions for the Science Analysts, especially in the Equity Investment space.
- Strong in Data Science with programming skills in Python, SQL, and using Snowflake.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows using tools such as Airflow, Glue or similar orchestration frameworks.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms, especially AWS (S3, Lambda, Batch).
- Experience with one or more modern data architectures (Snowflake, DataBricks, Fabric).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data governance, and metadata management best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git‑based workflows, containerization (Docker), and modern software engineering practices.
- Hands‑on experience developing, deploying, and testing solutions in cloud environments (AWS).
- Strong experience debugging, optimizing, and performance‑tuning high‑volume data pipelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- MUST work for a Financial Services company in the "Equity Investment Research Space" that has helped Data Scientists determine company and stock values and trends. Must have dealt with real-time mission-critical investment trading platforms. This job will be serving Financial Services/Investment Banking/Stock Trading and Equity Valuations.
- Technical degree is required along with 10+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer with strong Snowflake, Python data structure, Large Data Set Parallel Processing, and large number/multiple API request handling.
- MUST be an expert dealing with LARGE Data Set Parallel Processing and Multiple API Query Handling.
- Must have acted almost at a "Data Architect or Data Lead-level" and led end-to-end-design and implementation of projects.
- MUST BE a great English communicator with ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environment. Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work with cross‑functional teams including data scientists, researchers, and business partners.
- Must work onsite 4 days a week in either Boston, MA.
