Director of Corporate Accounting
Large Publicly-Traded Company | Miami-Dade| In-Office (5 Days)
Brand-New Seat | Public-Company Scale
OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT
- Best-in-class close infrastructure: Recently-implemented Blackline, Hyperion HFM and Essbase, with active Power BI and Alteryx deployment across the function.
- Forward-looking mandate. Automation and agentic AI deployment is an explicit responsibility, not a side project. The seat is designed for an accountant who wants to operate at the AI and automation frontier of corporate accounting.
- Direct exposure to executive-level financial reporting cadence.
WHY THIS ROLE IS A STRONG CAREER MOVE
This is the seat for an accountant who wants to master operational accounting at public-company scale and apply automation and AI to do it.
- Public-company rigor. SOX environment, full audit cadence, executive-level review of close results. Resume-grade stamp for public accounting candidates moving in-house and a meaningful step up for current public-company candidates.
- Best-in-class close stack. Blackline (recently implemented, with optimization runway), Hyperion HFM and Essbase, Power BI, and Alteryx. The systems environment is genuinely modern and well-built.
- AI and automation mandate. The role explicitly includes designing prompts and configuring AI agents to streamline accounting processes. A rare opportunity to build that resume credential inside a corporate accounting function at this scale
- Process excellence at scale. Accruals, leases, fixed assets, prepaids, allocations, reconciliations and transaction volume that comes with operating at this scale is exposure most accountants never get.
- Quality of life. Predictable hours. A real close cadence. Public-company rhythm not the year-round grind of busy season or the unpredictable swing of PE-backed environments.
- Greenfield scope. Brand-new seat. Define how the function runs from day one rather than inheriting a fully-baked process.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- End-to-end General Accounting. Fixed Assets, Leases, Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations — full ownership of accuracy, efficiency, and US GAAP compliance.
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. Review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of financial results. Present results with executive leadership.
- Accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Design and maintain. Drive efficiency and accuracy. Operate inside a fully SOX-compliant control framework.
- Audit liaison. Coordinate with internal and external auditors through annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Process optimization and automation. Lead initiatives that measurably improve operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance — including agentic AI-enabled solutions designed to eliminate manual workflows.
- Cross-functional partnership. FP&A, Procurement, Operations, Treasury, Internal Audit. Work the matrix to enhance systems, automate workflows, and improve data quality.
- Team leadership. Mentor, develop, and guide accounting staff. Build bench depth alongside the broader function.
