Reporting to: VP of Engineering
Who You Are: The ideal candidate should possess exceptional analytical, communication, and relationship building skills; and is excited to join a fast-growing benefits brokerage and work with senior team members to help deliver exceptional engineering service and experience to Bennie’s customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Full Stack Development: Hands on contribution to code bases. Develop, maintain, and test robust and scalable backend microservice applications and front-end micro UI while ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Architectural Design: Contribute to the architectural decisions of our software solutions, considering scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical insights. Peer review code of other developers on the agile team.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering their growth and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- 7+ years experience with Java or Golang
- 7+ years working in an agile environment
- 5+ years experience with database design and performance tuning
- 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud or another cloud platform
- 3+ years working as a full stack engineer
- 2+ years leveraging AI centric software development tools, frameworks and processes (cursor/claude/copilot)
- Knowledge of software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices
- 3+ years of experience with React
- 3+ years of experience leading a team
- Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
