Senior .NET Engineer

We are looking for a strong Senior .NET Backend Engineer local to the Austin area to join a growing engineering team on a contract basis building scalable cloud-based applications and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate is highly backend-focused with deep experience in C#, .NET, systems design, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture. This person should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, owning technical decisions, and contributing to scalable platform development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using C# and .NET

• Architect distributed systems and cloud-native applications

• Work closely with engineering leadership on system design and technical strategy

• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning

• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams

Required Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core

• Deep understanding of systems design and software architecture

• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices

• Hands-on cloud experience with both Azure and AWS

• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Must be local to Austin, TX or willing to relocate

Preferred Experience

• Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized environments

• Event-driven architecture and messaging systems

• High-scale or real-time application environments

• Experience in startup or fast-growth engineering teams

• Exposure to DevOps and infrastructure automation
