Lead Mobile Engineer - Flutter - Porto - Hybrid

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Flutter Mobile Engineer to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of high-quality mobile applications. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on development, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both engineering and consulting environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance mobile applications using Flutter
• Define and maintain architecture, coding standards, and governance practices
• Manage and mentor a team of developers (6+), driving performance, delivery, and engagement
• Provide technical leadership and consulting, including effort estimation and solution design
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
• Balance technical debt reduction with ongoing feature delivery
• Translate complex architectural concepts into clear, actionable tasks for the team
• Conduct detailed code reviews and contribute to complex implementations where required
• Support and optimise CI/CD pipelines and development workflows

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 7+ years’ experience in mobile application development, with strong architectural expertise
• Deep knowledge of Flutter, including state management and architectural patterns
• Experience with code quality and governance tools (e.g. Dart Code Metrics)
• Proven track record leading and developing high-performing engineering teams
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at PO and Architect level
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with native mobile technologies (iOS and Android)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience or interest in BLE/NFC technologies
• Exposure to the Windows ecosystem
