We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team for an initial 3-6 months contract to assist with the implementation and setup of Alation within an AWS eco-system as well as establishing the foundations for data governance, metadata management, and enterprise‑wide discoverability.

Expected duties

  • Configure, build and setup the Alation platform
  • Configure and optimise metadata extraction from AWS
  • Deploy and manage Alation agents and connectors
  • Establish curation workflows and ownership tagging
  • Improve data quality, lineage, and discoverability across the organisation
  • Refine data pipelines

Skills Required

  • Alation certification highly desired
  • Alation installation and build experience
  • OCF, QLI and compose configuration
  • AWS, Redshift, Glue, S3
  • Terraform
  • Python
  • SQL
  • Well versed with modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)
  • Capable of writing custom APIs or connectors and optimizing complex analytical queries.
