General Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to drive cloud-native development practices and automation across our engineering teams. This role focuses on implementing modern DevOps methodologies, building robust CI/CD pipelines, and enabling development teams to deliver high-quality software at scale through cloud-native solutions and automation.

Core Responsibilities

Cloud DevOps & Development Automation

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Crossplane and Terraform for cloud-native, API-driven deployments
• Build, optimize, and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software delivery
• Develop and enforce DevOps best practices including automated testing, code quality gates, and deployment strategies
• Implement GitOps workflows and configuration management for streamlined development processes

Kubernetes & Container Orchestration

• Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across AWS cloud environments
• Design container strategies, image management, and orchestration patterns for microservices architectures
• Implement service mesh technologies and container security best practices
• Optimize cluster performance, resource allocation, and auto-scaling capabilities

Development Platform Engineering

• Build and maintain developer tooling, platforms, and self-service capabilities
• Create automated workflows for application deployment, testing, and monitoring
• Implement observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana
• Design and maintain development environment provisioning and management systems

Data Pipeline & Streaming Operations

• Develop and optimize streaming data pipelines using Kafka and related technologies
• Implement data processing workflows and ETL automation
• Optimize database operations for both relational and NoSQL systems (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)

DevOps Culture & Collaboration

• Champion DevOps culture and practices across development teams
• Facilitate clear, constructive communication within engineering teams to align on technical decisions and resolve conflicts efficiently
• Mentor developers on cloud-native development patterns and deployment strategies
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve development velocity and code quality
• Drive adoption of emerging DevOps tools, practices, and methodologies

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• **Cloud Platforms:** 7+ years developing and deploying applications on AWS (primary focus)
• **Container Orchestration:** 5+ years managing Kubernetes in large-scale production environments
• **Infrastructure as Code:** 3+ years with Crossplane, Kubernetes operators, or cloud-native IaC tools
• **CI/CD:** 5+ years building and maintaining continuous integration/deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

DevOps & Development Tools

• **Monitoring & Observability:** Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and logging solutions
• **Development Platforms:** Experience with GitOps workflows, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools
• **Cloud-Native Technologies:** Service mesh, API gateways, serverless computing, and microservices patterns

Professional Experience

• **Industry Experience:** 10+ years in DevOps, cloud development, or platform engineering roles
• **Development Focus:** Proven track record enabling development teams through automation and tooling
• **High-Velocity Development:** Experience with rapid release cycles, feature flags, and continuous deployment practices

Essential Capabilities

DevOps Leadership

• Extensive background in cloud-native development and modern DevOps practices
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable development platforms and automation solutions
• Experience leading DevOps transformation initiatives and cultural change

Development Enablement

• Strong focus on developer experience, productivity, and self-service capabilities
• Ability to translate business requirements into automated development workflows
• Experience building platforms that accelerate software delivery and improve code quality

Cloud-Native Expertise

• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization
• Experience with modern deployment patterns including blue-green, canary, and rolling deployments
• Commitment to automation-first approaches and infrastructure-as-code principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud architectures
• Background in Computer & Network Security, Computer Networking, or Telecommunications
• Certifications: CKA,CKAD, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
