This role will work across both Travel and Lifestyle propositions, ensuring a cohesive end-to-end customer journey for Chinese Mainland customers engaging with Cathay across booking, travel management, loyalty engagement, and lifestyle services.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, marketing, partnerships, and regional teams to ensure that our digital products meet customer needs and business objectives. You will conduct market research, analyse user behaviour and feedback, and make data-driven decisions to continuously enhance the product experience.
While this role covers the broader Chinese Mainland digital ecosystem, experience working with WeChat and the platform landscape is essential, as WeChat represents a key channel for engaging Chinese Mainland customers.
You will take ownership of product success by defining key performance indicators (KPIs), driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring that product investments deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Market Insight
- Identify strategic opportunities within the Chinese Mainland market, engaging with stakeholders to develop product strategies that address customer needs and market dynamics.
- Develop and maintain a product vision and roadmap that reflects the unique characteristics of the Chinese Mainland digital ecosystem, including platform behaviours, user expectations, and competitive trends.
- Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
- Explore user needs and behaviours within the Chinese Mainland market, conducting research and analysing insights to inform product direction.
- Define cohesive customer journeys across Travel and Lifestyle propositions, ensuring an integrated experience for Chinese Mainland customers across Cathay’s ecosystem.
- Lead product discovery initiatives and experimentation to identify new opportunities for growth and customer engagement.
- Define product functionality and strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Ensure proposed features and enhancements meet user needs through testing, feedback analysis, and data-driven validation.
- Evaluate product opportunities within the Chinese Mainland market based on impact, feasibility, and strategic importance.
- Create and execute product roadmaps that align with company objectives and regional market needs.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and product teams to ensure successful delivery of product initiatives.
- Coordinate initiatives across multiple product areas to ensure a consistent experience for Chinese Mainland customers.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product performance and customer outcomes.
- Evaluate the impact of product features on customer experience, engagement, and business performance.
- Communicate product outcomes and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners supporting the Chinese Mainland market.
- Align stakeholders on product priorities, roadmaps, and outcomes.
- Communicate product updates, insights, and strategic direction across the organisation.

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience managing digital products serving the Chinese Mainland market.
- Strong understanding of the Chinese Mainland digital ecosystem, including major platforms such as WeChat, and their role in customer engagement.
- Experience developing customer journeys that integrate multiple digital services and propositions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex product initiatives and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- Strong analytical skills and experience using digital product analytics.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and customer experience design.
- High degree of internet savvy with strong awareness of Chinese Mainland digital trends and customer behaviour.
- Comfort working with technical teams and understanding technology implications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin preferred.
