Software Engineer

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer with Sabre Systems, you will be supporting the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team that’s integrating software into one of the Navy's most technologically sophisticated aircraft platforms, the P-8A. The selected applicant will be part of the Software Support Activity developing and integrating solutions for the Air Operational Flight Program. The selected applicant will

• Apply knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop software to perform acoustic signal simulation to the P-8A Poseidon Maritime Surveillance and Patrol Aircraft.
• Employ software integration techniques to bring together components to work as a whole system.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
• Update software or enhance existing software capabilities using C/C++, Java
• May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements
• May maintain databases within an application area
• Utilize DevOps tools in the Atlassian suite – JIRA, collaborate and conduct build management with Bitbucket
• Utilize Windows and Linux based assets

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelors in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop and sustain software
• Willingness to participate in processes applicable to full software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, integration and test
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux (preferably Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, or newer)
• CompTIA certification is highly desired; or must be able to obtain
• An active DoD Secret Clearance is preferred and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance is required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Desired Qualifications/Skills

• Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Aircraft Weapons Systems and software processes a plus
• Knowledge of software containers
• Ability to develop software in a variety of languages, such as C, C++, Java

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows $125,000.00 - $150,000.00
