Role summary
The Commercial Lines Account Manager supports a portfolio of small to mid-market commercial clients and producers across the full policy life cycle. This role owns day-to-day service, renewals, and marketing activity, while delivering consistent client experience through strong coverage knowledge, clear communication, and disciplined documentation.
Location: The Woodlands, Houston, Texas
Work model: In office 5 days per week. Hybrid 3 days may be available for the right candidate. Remote-only option is not available.
What you will do
- Manage a book of small to mid-market commercial accounts, serving as a primary point of contact for clients and internal producer partners
- Lead renewals end to end, including gathering updated exposure information, identifying coverage changes, and building a clear renewal strategy with the producer
- Market accounts to carrier partners, prepare complete submissions, follow up for quotes, and negotiate coverage terms and pricing aligned to the client’s needs
- Prepare proposals, summaries, and coverage comparisons that are clear, accurate, and client-ready
- Process and manage endorsements, certificates, cancellations, audits, audits support, and other service requests with speed and accuracy
- Support new business onboarding, including document collection, coverage verification, and coordination with carrier and internal teams
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and file hygiene within the agency management system, including notes, activities, attachments, and required fields
- Partner closely with producers to identify rounding and cross-sell opportunities while protecting retention and service quality
- Stay current on carrier appetite, underwriting requirements, and industry changes impacting commercial property and casualty clients
- High retention and strong client satisfaction across assigned accounts
- On-time renewals with clean submissions and minimal rework
- Accurate policy issuance and endorsements, with strong documentation and compliance discipline
- Strong working relationships with producers, underwriters, and internal teams
- Property and Casualty insurance license in good standing
- At least 3 years’ experience in an independent insurance agency supporting commercial property and casualty accounts
- Working knowledge of commercial lines coverages, renewal workflows, and carrier marketing practices
- Strong organization and follow through across multiple concurrent deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain coverage in a clear, practical way
- High attention to detail and commitment to documentation, compliance, and E-and-O controls

Compensation
Compensation range: $60,000 - $80,000
