Indexed description

At Parallel, we build AI agents to help healthcare facilities automate their administrative processes, starting with medical coding.

Today, up to 25% of healthcare spending is lost in manual, repetitive administrative work. Legacy software hasn’t helped, it’s made things slower, more complex, and more frustrating for care teams.

We believe AI agents can change that. Our technology combines Large Language Models with system-level automation to handle real work inside existing hospital tools. No integrations, no disruption.

Our first agent automates end-to-end coding workflows and frees up time for medical staff to focus on patients.

We launched in 2024, are backed by top investors (Frst, Y Combinator, Hexa, Kima Ventures, Better Angle), and we’re just getting started.

The future of healthcare isn’t just digital — it’s automated. Come help us build it !

As we scale, we're looking for a Senior Founding DevOps Engineer to join us at this pivotal moment. You won’t just keep the lights on — you’ll help architect a secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure from day one. This is a rare opportunity to build with high ownership, alongside a small and passionate team who cares deeply about craft, clarity, and impact.

You’ll work closely with the founders on everything from designing cloud infrastructure to setting up deployment pipelines and monitoring systems. If you're excited by the idea of laying the foundations of a mission-critical health tech platform, we’d love to talk.

We are looking for a Senior Founding DevOps Engineer to help us achieve our mission of reducing administrative workload in hospitals by making our AI-based systems reliable, secure, and easy to deploy at scale.

This is a full-time role focused on building infrastructure to support rapid deployment of AI solutions in hospitals.

Mission

As a Founding SRE / DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain our multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure

  • Set up CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (GitHub Actions) for our AI and web applications

  • Build secure, scalable, and observable systems for real-world usage in hospital environments

  • Collaborate closely with engineering to define operational best practices from the start

  • Ensure our systems are compliant with HDS (health data security) and data protection standards

  • Proactively identify and resolve reliability bottlenecks or security risks

  • Define our DevOps culture and processes, from incident response to infrastructure as code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer, Ansible)

  • Deploy and maintain on-premise infrastructure inside hospital networks, managing hybrid architectures that bridge cloud services with client-site VMs via VPN tunnels and configuration management (Ansible)

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about infrastructure, reliability, and security. You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • 7/8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles (exceptions possible, but we’re optimizing for very senior profiles)

  • Ability to be quickly autonomous on complex topics: multi-cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, container orchestration (ECS/Fargate, GKE Autopilot), and on-prem environments

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure in a multi-cloud setup

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and container orchestration (ECS/Fargate on AWS, GKE Autopilot on GCP, Docker)

  • Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Terragrunt, and ideally Packer and Ansible

  • Strong focus on system observability: logging, monitoring, tracing

  • Strong security mindset, ideally with exposure to health data regulations (HDS, HIPAA, etc.)

  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Experience with on-premise / hybrid deployments, including configuration management tools (Ansible) and site-to-site VPN connectivity. Comfort operating in constrained network environments where you don't own the full stack

Technical stack

  • Backend: Typescript with NestJS, Express, Prisma, Postgres

  • Frontend: React, TanStack, Tailwind

  • Data: Python & Node (for low level proxy servers)

  • Tools: Monorepo, Github, Github actions

  • Infra: AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, ECS/Fargate, GKE Autopilot

  • IaC: Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer, Ansible, Infracost, Checkov, tfsec

  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, OIDC federation, self-hosted runners on GCP

  • Networking & Security: VPC peering, HA VPN, AWS WAF, CloudFront, Route 53, Cloud DNS

  • Data & Caching: Redis (ElastiCache, Memorystore), Milvus/Zilliz, Pub/Sub

  • Observability: Datadog

  • AI/ML: Hugging Face, LangChain

  • On-prem: Ansible, Docker Compose, site-to-site VPN (GCP HA VPN)

Engineering Mindset

  • Data security is our foundation, given our work with sensitive health data

  • We focus on solving user problems, not shipping features — deep product involvement is essential

  • Full type safety from database to UI

  • Rapid development with tools like Cursor

  • Automated best practices with eslint, Prettier, Jest, and TypeScript

  • We leverage the latest technologies and libraries but sometimes, old boring tech that does the job is what’s needed

  • Infrastructure should empower — not block — product iteration

  • Quick chat with our CTO Chris

  • Case study in our office in Paris

  • Meeting with our CEO Paul

  • Drink to meet the team
