Software Engineer - Backend Platform

They’ve built a platform that handles prospect and resident interactions 24/7 across webchat, SMS, email, and voice, automating everything from lead capture and tour scheduling to renewals, maintenance requests, and resident communications.

Their two core markets are housing and healthcare - two of the most underserved industries when it comes to modern software.

The Role

You’ll be a core contributor on the platform team - the engine powering everything customer-facing. This is a high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environment: engineers ship to production 2–3 times a day, and the team is aggressive about adopting new techniques and models as they emerge.

Architecture decisions are yours to shape. You’ll go from design to deployment on features that users feel the next day, working alongside a young, high-calibre team with talent from top engineering programmes.

What You’ll Do

• Build and iterate on core platform features that directly drive customer value
• Own full project lifecycle - from architecture design through production deployment
• Improve system design and raise the bar on engineering practices team-wide
• Ship reliably and frequently via robust testing, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Collaborate closely with a lean, high-performing engineering team

What They’re Looking For

• Strong STEM degrees in hard sciences.
• High ownership mentality.
• Solid backend fundamentals and experience with scalable system design
• 2+ years of production experience in Java, Python, Go, C++ or C#
• Comfortable working in-office regularly in San Francisco or New York

Nice to Have

• Microservices or distributed systems experience
• Exposure to ML pipelines or data-driven systems
• Familiarity with AWS
