Compensation: $160,000 – $220,000 base + 0.25% – 0.5% equity

About The Company

The company is building a marketplace platform that connects domain experts with high-paying AI data training opportunities for leading AI labs. The product includes marketplace infrastructure, expert routing, ranking systems, gamification, contributor progression, and operational tooling. Recently raised a $6M seed round led by Kindred Ventures. Engineering team is primarily Europe-based with SF leadership presence.

About The Role

This is a front-end-leaning full-stack engineering role with end-to-end ownership across a fast-growing two-sided marketplace platform. You will own features from architecture through production, working closely with product, design, and ops teams.

What You'll Own

• End-to-end feature ownership across frontend and backend systems
• Frontend development with deep React and modern frontend tooling
• Backend development using Django or equivalent frameworks (FastAPI, Rails, or similar)
• PostgreSQL database design including indexing, transactions, and query optimization
• Performance optimization and debugging across the full stack
• Cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and ops teams

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of full-stack engineering experience
• Front-end-leaning technical profile with strong React and modern frontend depth
• Django or equivalent backend framework experience (FastAPI, Rails, or similar)
• PostgreSQL fundamentals including indexing, transactions, and optimization
• Performance optimization and debugging experience
• Ability to own features end to end
• SF-based preferred or Europe remote

Nice to Have

• Marketplace engineering experience — Uber, Airbnb, Udemy, or similar two-sided marketplace
• Founding engineer experience at a YC or comparable startup
• Security-sensitive application experience
• AWS experience and CI/CD ownership
• Background task systems (Celery / Django-Q2)
• Multi-frontend architecture experience
• Recruiting tech or marketplace experience

This Role Is NOT For

• Pure backend engineers without frontend capability
• Pure frontend engineers without backend competence
• Profiles without startup or founding ownership experience
• Candidates with no marketplace adjacency or weak React depth
