Senior Software Engineer, OVS DOCA
Indexed description
The NVIDIA DOCA™ SDK enables developers to rapidly build applications and services on top of NVIDIA® BlueField® data processing units (DPUs), using industry-standard APIs. With DOCA, developers can deliver breakthrough networking, security, and storage performance by harnessing the power of NVIDIA's DPUs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts using Python to ensure the reliability, functionality, and quality of the DOCA™ SDK.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated test workflows to integrate verification into the development lifecycle.
- Build and manage test environments and infrastructure (labs, containers, VMs, configuration) to support large‑scale, automated performance and regression testing.
- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of software applications and networking protocols, including performance and scalability verification.
- Identify, analyze, and report software defects, inconsistencies, and other quality issues, and drive them to resolution with development teams.
- Monitor and troubleshoot build, test, and deployment issues across automation and lab systems, working closely with developers and DevOps/SRE teams.
- Participate in code reviews and test plan reviews, suggesting ideas to improve the quality, maintainability, and observability of both product and test code.
- Continuously supervise and evaluate the efficiency of test and delivery processes and methodologies, recommending and implementing improvements and further automation where necessary.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or software verification engineer, with a focus on building sophisticated software systems and test automation.
- Strong experience with Linux environments, including scripting and basic system and networking troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and practical experience in software design and architecture principles, with an emphasis on testability and automation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++ or similar.
- Excellent understanding of data structures and OOP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps concepts (source control, code review, build systems, automated testing, deployments).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to take on complex technical challenges end‑to‑end (from test design through automation and environment).
- Effective communication skills, creative, motivated, and driven worker.
- Basic knowledge of networking.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following networking areas: Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/UDP/IP, QoS, L2–L3 protocols.
- Background with networking applications and protocols, especially in high‑performance or low‑latency environments.
- Hands‑on experience with CI methodology and tools (e.g., Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Experience with DevOps tooling and practices, such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), and monitoring/logging of test or lab systems.
- Experience designing and executing large‑scale performance, scalability, or reliability test suites with knowledge of design patterns.
