This is a high-impact role focused on building the systems and tooling that protect Helcim, our merchants, and the broader payments ecosystem.
You’ll own the strategy and execution of internal products that enable smarter decision-making, reduce risk exposure, and support scalable, compliant growth. This role goes beyond backlog management, you’ll shape how Helcim approaches risk holistically, balancing security, user experience, and operational efficiency.
Are You Our Next Builder? 🛠️
- 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in payments, fintech, or risk-related domains.
- Experience working with fraud systems, credit risk, compliance tooling, or chargeback processes is a strong asset.
- Strong product judgment with the ability to navigate trade-offs between risk, user experience, and business impact.
- Proven ability to deliver complex, data-driven products in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with technical systems, APIs, and data models.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across teams without formal authority.
- A customer-first mindset, with empathy for both merchants and internal users.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strategic Thinking: Connects risk initiatives to broader business outcomes.
- Execution Excellence: Drives complex initiatives from concept to impact.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Uses metrics and insights to guide priorities.
- Technical Fluency: Understands systems, integrations, and data flows.
- Collaboration & Influence: Builds alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Ownership: Takes accountability for outcomes, not just outputs.
✨ Not checking every box? Please apply anyway! We know that candidates have different experiences that may make them a great fit for this position and for Helcim. We believe that diversity and having an inclusive culture is not only the right thing, but key to our long-term success. Diversity brings more experience, view-points, knowledge and insight about our future. We also want to provide an accessible interview process, so if there’s any accommodations that would make your experience more comfortable, please let us know.
The Role: What You’ll Own 🔑
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and drive the roadmap for internal risk systems, aligning with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve fraud detection, credit risk modeling, compliance workflows, and chargeback handling.
- Balance risk mitigation with merchant experience to ensure friction is introduced only where it adds value.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging threats in payments and risk.
Execution & Delivery
- Own the full product lifecycle—from discovery and definition through to launch and iteration.
- Translate complex risk and compliance needs into clear product requirements and prioritized initiatives.
- Partner closely with engineering, data, and design to deliver scalable, reliable systems.
- Continuously improve internal tools and workflows to increase automation, accuracy, and efficiency.
Data & Optimization
- Define and track key metrics (e.g., fraud rates, loss ratios, false positives, chargeback rates, approval rates).
- Use data, experimentation, and user insights to drive decisions and optimize performance.
- Partner with data teams to leverage models, signals, and analytics in product decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the connective tissue between Risk, Data, Compliance, Operations, Engineering, and Product teams.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex topics into actionable insights.
- Mentor teammates and elevate product thinking across the organization.
