Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
Contract to Hire | Hybrid – Newark, NJ (3 Days/Week Onsite)
Pay Rate: $55–$65/hr on W2 or $120,000 a year salary. No C2C.

A major investment firm is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a growing technology organization focused on enterprise-scale applications and modern cloud-native platforms. This is a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity working within a collaborative Agile environment on highly visible initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Build enterprise applications using modern coding practices, architectural principles, and scalable design patterns
- Develop high-quality, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with engineering standards and best practices
- Partner with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to define technical solutions and deliver business-impacting applications
- Design and implement unit tests, integration tests, and functional automation solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, production, and QA-related issues across the full technology stack
- Contribute to engineering excellence by promoting innovation, continuous learning, and modern development practices
- Work on complex technical challenges involving distributed systems, scalability, performance, and application security
- Develop full stack solutions using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, React, and Spring Boot
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 6+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise-grade applications
- Strong experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Spring Boot
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, distributed systems, microservices, multithreading, and design patterns
- Experience with REST APIs, SOA, JSON, XML, SOAP, and API development/consumption
- Strong database experience with relational and NoSQL technologies including Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, Redshift, or similar platforms
- Experience with AWS services across compute, storage, databases, IAM, and analytics
- Knowledge of event-driven and streaming technologies such as SQS, Kinesis, MSK, or EventBridge
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD practices including GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and automated deployment pipelines
- Strong understanding of software security, secure coding practices, DevSecOps, authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, SSL, and encryption concepts
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- AWS cloud-native application development experience
- Financial services or insurance industry experience required
- Experience with AI-driven development tools and agentic frameworks such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies required
- Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns and enterprise application design principles
