Middleware Operations Lead

We are hiring a Hands-On Middleware Operations Lead to support and improve enterprise middleware platforms in a production environment. This role is a technical lead / escalation role, not a pure architect position, and includes mentoring 2 junior middleware administrators and participating in the on-call rota.

Key technologies (priority order):

· IBM WebSphere Application Server ND

· IBM MQ

· Microsoft IIS

· Apache Tomcat

· Oracle WebLogic

· Apache HTTP Server

Tasks:

· Administer, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot middleware environments

· Support WebSphere ND clusters, node synchronization, deployments, and JVM/runtime issues

· Support IBM MQ queue managers, channels, and message flow

· Administer IIS, SSL certificates, bindings, and application pools

· Support Tomcat, WebLogic, and Apache HTTP Server

· Act as technical escalation point for production incidents and major issues

· Drive standardization, automation, and operational improvements

· Mentor junior admins and review production changes

Required Skills:

· Strong middleware operations background in enterprise production environments

· Strong hands-on WebSphere ND experience

· Solid IBM MQ troubleshooting experience

· Experience with Windows and Linux server environments

· Experience with ITIL-based service management

· Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Bash, Shell, or Python

· Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder coordination skills
