🚀 We’re Hiring: Kong API Developer 🚀

Are you passionate about building secure, scalable APIs and working with modern API gateway technologies? We’re looking for an experienced Kong API Developer to design, develop, and manage high‑performance API solutions using the Kong API Gateway.

🔍 Role Overview

As a Kong API Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing APIs within a microservices ecosystem. You’ll ensure API performance, security, and reliability while collaborating closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement APIs and microservices using Kong API Gateway (OSS/Enterprise)
  • Configure and manage Kong entities: services, routes, upstreams, plugins, and consumers
  • Develop custom Kong plugins using Lua (or other supported languages)
  • Integrate APIs with backend systems, databases, cloud services, and auth platforms
  • Implement API security standards: OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, RBAC, rate limiting, API keys
  • Optimize API performance, traffic routing, and load balancing strategies
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API traffic via Kong Manager, Konga, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
  • Maintain clear documentation for API specs, integrations, and gateway configurations
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver scalable and secure API solutions

✅ Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in API development or backend engineering
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Kong API Gateway
  • Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, API lifecycle, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with Lua scripting or languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go
  • Solid understanding of API security frameworks:
  • OAuth 2.0
  • JWT
  • mTLS
  • RBAC
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
  • Proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills
