Job Title: AS400 Developer
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AS400 Developer with strong expertise in IBM i (AS400) technologies for a 12-month onsite engagement in Kuala Lumpur. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing legacy applications while ensuring system stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i (AS400) platform.
- Design and code programs using RPG (RPGLE / ILE RPG / Free Format RPG).
- Work with CL programs, DB2/400, and embedded SQL.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform debugging, testing, and performance tuning of AS400 applications.
- Support system integration and data migration activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, QA, and infrastructure teams.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and enhancements.
- Provide production support and resolve incidents within SLA timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6–8 years of experience in AS400 / IBM i development.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- RPGLE / ILE RPG / Free Format RPG
- CL Programming
- DB2/400
- Embedded SQL
- Experience with program debugging and performance tuning.
- Good understanding of legacy system architecture and modernization approaches.
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment.
