Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Systems / Software Engineer to support engine controls development for a Cummins project through LTTS. The role focuses on model-based development, system engineering, and validation of engine control features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tuning guides, testing plans, test reports, and certification documentation for engine system features
- Perform systems engineering activities including analysis of problem statements and development of solution proposals
- Develop software requirements using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Create and maintain feature simulation models
- Contribute to embedded software development for engine control systems
- Verify implementations through simulation and testing, including:
- Model-in-the-Loop (MIL)
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
- Open-loop and closed-loop testing
- Conduct bench testing (remote access provided) to validate system performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow
- Knowledge of model-based development (MBD)
- Experience with embedded systems or engine control units (ECU)
- Understanding of system engineering processes
- Experience with MIL/HIL testing environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive or heavy-duty engine domain
- Familiarity with calibration/tuning processes
- Exposure to Cummins tools or processes is a plus
