Senior Software Engineer

WORK SCOPE: Your primary responsibility will be to create and manage software solutions that drive our business. You will also lead and coordinate projects end-to-end, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful and timely delivery. Additionally, you'll play a crucial part in maintaining operational stability by assisting other teams throughout the company.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

● Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance and scalable applications using Laravel (PHP)

● Support core business operations

● Maintain and enhance modules of existing systems

● Develop new initiatives and prototypes using, but not limited to, Python and/or Node.js.

● Preparing program documentation and reports

● Troubleshoot and monitor the performance of internal systems

● Assist in user acceptance testing efforts and system integration activities

● Responds to requests from the project development team and operations team

● Gather information from stakeholders and end-users

● Manage assigned tasks and project deliverables

● Keep up to date on the newest technological innovations in the field and be ready to apply relevant innovations to our software systems

2. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

● Reports to: IT Applications Manager

Closely coordinates with: Operations Team, Business Systems Analysts

REQUIREMENTS:

1. EDUCATION: Graduate of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related

2. SKILLS

● At least 5 years of software engineering experience using Laravel and related technologies

● At least 5 years of Project Management experience

● Strong working knowledge of PHP, preferably using Laravel framework

● Experienced with relational databases, primarily SQL. Ability to write complex queries and optimize performance

● Strong Project Management Skills

● Familiarity with version control systems (ex. Github, Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools (ex. TeamCity, Jenkins) are required

● Knowledge of other programming languages like Python and Node.js

● Knowledge of tools like Docker, IIS and AWS is an advantage

● Strong understanding of basic programming paradigms and principles

● Ability to digest complex problems and devise effective technical solutions
