Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities.


The Student & Teaching Technologies team of ITSO develops, implements and supports various IT systems and software solution related to teaching and e-learning, including but not limited to the following: (1) implementation of in-house or outsourced web-base / mobile device solution; (2) proof-of-concept / prototyping projects related to application of new technologies ; (3) customization of packaged solution ; (4) supervision of student projects ; (5) providing consultation to user department related to IT aspect.


Requirements

  • Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent with solid relevant work experience, preferably in supporting teaching and learning.


  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the below areas :

- front-end development using Node.js, React.js, Angular, JQuery, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, etc.,

- full stack development using Java 8+, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, RESTful services, JSON, Bootstrap, etc.,

- Python for scripting, automation, or backend development,

- PHP for scripting, automation, or backend development would be an advantage,

- developing and integrating web-based applications, APIs.


  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles.


  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding to improve development productivity and code quality.


  • Knowledge of Docker for containerization and CI/CD pipelines, including software deployment.


  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best coding practices, including secure coding principles and common application security risks.


  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).


  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, and be proactive, self-motivated, and a fast learner in taking on new tasks, technologies, and assignments.


(Duration: 2 years, renewable)


Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
