Apple’s Cellular Software team is seeking hard-working and highly motivated engineers to work on next-generation cellular technologies and features. As a Software engineer in this team, you will be at the center of the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular modem software/firmware development & validation efforts. You will work within a silicon design group responsible for crafting and productizing innovative cellular SoCs.

This role requires someone to be familiar with all phases of embedded software development, covering design, coding, pre-silicon and post-silicon tests.
The focus will be on the design and implementation of verification strategies to ensure Apple wireless products conform to 3GPP specifications, internal product design requirements, and Carrier requirements.
Responsibilities
- This role requires someone to be familiar with all phases of embedded software development, covering design, coding, pre-silicon and post-silicon tests.
- The focus will be on the design and implementation of verification strategies to ensure Apple wireless products conform to 3GPP specifications, internal product design requirements, and Carrier requirements.
- Proven industry experience and excellent understanding of one or multiple cellular technologies: UMTS, HSPA+, LTE, or NR and related 3GPP/ETSI standards.
- Significant experience in embedded software/firmware development or validation of cellular protocols (e.g. PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, NAS, etc.) in the LTE/NR domain.
- Excellent software development and debugging skills including design & programming in C/C++.
- English language proficiency is required for this position.
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Embedded System Engineering, or Electrical/Information Engineering with 5+ years of professional working experience or PhD in a relevant field with confirmed years of working experience.
- Experience in test case scripting, conforming to relevant ETSI/3GPP protocol technical specifications, or GCF/IOT/Carrier Approval tests is a big plus.
- Highly motivated and proactive, a fast learner, and a good team player.
