The Search Thematic Advertising Experiences team, within Sponsored Products, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build scalable, high-performance systems that power natural language
understanding, personalization, and other ML-driven capabilities. In our team, you will have the opportunity to architect and build the services and infrastructure behind new ads experiences that elevate the shopping experience for our hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will partner with other talented engineers and scientists to design, build, test, and deploy production systems that serve machine learning models at scale. You will be responsible for translating business and scientific requirements into robust, maintainable software solutions, building APIs and data pipelines, and instrumenting systems to measure how shoppers and advertisers are responding to changes.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on the Search Thematic Advertising Experiences team, you will:
- Help merchants, retail vendors and brand owners grow incremental sales of their products on Amazon through native product advertising
- Drive major product and engineering initiatives
- Build large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
- Build ML infrastructure and data processing pipelines
- Partner with our science team to develop models that optimize shopper experience
- Design, build, and operate key pieces of customer facing functionality

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
