Senior Software Engineer

Hey, I’m Kaveh, head of engineering here at Updoc.

I’ve been building tech for over a decade, and let me tell you—there’s nothing quite like working on something that genuinely changes lives. At Updoc, we’re shaping the future of healthcare and we’re looking for a senior software engineer to join our team and help us build technology that connects patients, doctors, medical professionals, and pharmacies across the country.

Now, this isn’t your average healthcare gig. We’re scrappy, curious, and unapologetically nerdy. Our tech team comes from some of the best global tech companies—think Canva, Uber, Amazon—but we don’t have room for egos here. We thrive on collaboration, coffee-fueled debates about system architecture, and the occasional (okay, frequent) meme battle in Slack.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role isn’t about sitting in a corner coding in isolation. You’ll:

Architect and build systems that scale (and make our doctors and patients say, “Wow, that’s crazy”).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems—like how to ensure a prescription gets from Point A to Point B with zero headaches.

Get hands-on with everything from designing APIs to optimising database queries.

Own projects from start to finish. If it breaks, we fix it together (but don’t worry, we’ve got great monitoring).

About You

You love solving puzzles. You see a gnarly bug or a tricky edge case, and your first thought is, “Challenge accepted.”

You’ve been around the block. Whether it’s 5+ years of professional experience or a portfolio that makes us go, “Whoa,” you know your way around backend services, frontend frameworks, and maybe even some infrastructure.

You’re all about clean code. Tests? Documentation? Refactoring? Yes, no, and sometimes!

You’re curious AF. Always exploring new tools and tech? Perfect.

Bonus points if you’ve worked in startups, healthcare, or built systems that have to work at scale (like, millions-of-users scale).
