Software Engineer (Istio) at BairesDev

As a Software Engineer specializing in Istio, you will implement and manage service mesh infrastructure to handle microservice traffic, security, and observability. You will bridge the gap between application code and network infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and robust security across distributed services.

What You'll Do

• Design and deploy Istio service mesh architectures to manage complex microservice communications.
• Configure and optimize Envoy proxies to handle L4/L7 traffic management and load balancing.
• Implement security policies including mutual TLS (mTLS), authentication, and authorization across the mesh.
• Establish comprehensive observability using Istio’s telemetry for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate services into the mesh while maintaining high performance and reliability.
• Automate service mesh lifecycle management and configuration updates to ensure system stability.

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying Istio service mesh architectures.
• Advanced proficiency in configuring and optimizing Envoy proxies for traffic management.
• Deep understanding of service mesh security, including mutual TLS (mTLS) and authentication.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
