Software Engineer

Full Stack Engineer - Hybrid, Boston.

This is a strongly backed start-up organization that have an AI platform that help brands become accessible and meet regulatory standards.The company works with a growing portfolio of modern digital brands that prioritise customer experience and responsible practices. Backed by top investors, it is currently in a high-growth phase.

This role is backend focused and would require 3x a week onsite in Boston.

The Role

As a Full stack Engineer, the role involves joining a small, high-performing engineering team and working closely with technical leadership.

The primary focus is on developing and scaling the application, including strengthening AI-driven systems, enhancing customer-facing interfaces, and expanding platform integrations.

This position is well-suited to individuals interested in startup environments, offering exposure to early-stage scaling, system design, and product development. The role includes significant involvement in architectural decisions and mentorship of junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems that support accessibility analysis and automated remediation workflows.
• Develop and improve AI-driven systems/Agentic architecture
• Architect infrastructure to support new product capabilities beyond core features.
• Build and enhance customer-facing applications, delivering features across the full stack.
• Monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve observability across distributed systems.

Who They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with experience in typed systems.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerised environments. (AWS Preferred)
• Familiarity with browser automation or headless browser tools. (Playwright Preferred)

Nice to Have

• Experience building applications within an eCommerce ecosystem.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and compliance frameworks.
