What You’ll Do In The Role
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Software Engineer in New York, NY to develop software for cross-asset Risk and P&L computation system. Collaborate with business users to gather ideas about financial products and financial markets crossing different assets. Participate in the lifecycle of software programming development, ranging from gathering business requirements, designing solutions, and writing code. Work on a technology landscape involving the Scala programming languages, and other data storage programs. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Requires a Master’s in Computational Media, Information Technology, or a related field
- Requires one (1) year of experience in the position offered or one (1) year years as an Associate Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a related occupation
- Requires any amount of experience with the following skills:
- OOP design;
- Scala OR Java;
- data structures;
- design patterns;
- algorithmic complexity;
- async programming;
- understanding of multithreading;
- performance tuning;
- Git;
- Bitbucket; and
- JIRA.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $149,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
