Primary Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support system integrations using HL7, FHIR, APIs, and interface engines such as **Corepoint**, Rhapsody, and Mirth
- Maintain reliable data exchange between EHR platforms (e.g., Epic) and downstream systems, including lab, imaging, cardiology, and ancillary applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve interface issues, ensuring accurate, timely delivery of clinical and operational data
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure stable and secure integration environments
- Monitor interface performance, message flow, and error queues, implementing fixes and improvements as needed
- Support system migrations, upgrades, and onboarding of new applications or care delivery sites
- Follow change management processes and maintain documentation for integrations, workflows, and configurations
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy rules, and internal security policies when handling protected data
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in interface/integration engineering within healthcare or similarly regulated environments
- 3+ years of experience with HL7 v2 (ADT/ORM/ORU/DFT/RDE/etc.), FHIR basics, and RESTful APIs
- 3+ years of experience in message transformations, routing logic, and troubleshooting across test/prod environments
- 3+ years of experience in networking, servers, and authentication (TLS, mTLS, OAuth)
- 3+ years of experience with ITIL/Change Management practices and version control (e.g., Git)
- 3+ years of experience with Corepoint and at least one of: Rhapsody, Mirth, Cloverleaf
- Experience with EHR integrations (e.g., Epic Bridges, Interconnect)
- Scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for automation/monitoring
- Exposure to imaging (DICOM), X12, or interface engine high-availability design
- Background in observability stacks (logs/metrics/alerts) and queue-based architectures
