Lead AI Engineer
Indexed description
Lead AI Engineer
We are building the decision layer for autonomous agents orchestrating energy asset operations across large-scale infrastructure systems. Our first vertical is EV charging networks.
EV charging networks are operationally complex and still largely run through manual processes. At Lumina, we are addressing this with software that can understand, decide and act on operational data.
About Lumina
Lumina builds AI-driven operational software for hardware operators.
Our product monitors hardware, identifies issues and initiates resolution flows through statistical models, AI agents and automated systems. Agents handle operational workflows, allowing operators to move from execution to orchestration.
While EV charging is our primary focus today, our engine is built to expand across hardware-heavy industries.
The role
You will help build and improve the agentic intelligence behind Lumina’s product.
This is a hands-on role for someone strong in applied AI, data science and agentic systems. You will work on agents that detect operational issues, understand context, evaluate possible actions, trigger workflows and improve from historical outcomes.
The goal is to make Lumina’s agents more accurate, reliable and useful across EV charging and future hardware verticals.
What you will work on
You will:
- Build and improve AI agents for operational decision-making
- Improve how agents detect issues, reason about context and select actions
- Use historical operational data to improve agent performance
- Build evaluation methods for agent decisions, alerts and resolution flows
- Improve agentic workflows that support or automate operational tasks
- Help generalize Lumina’s agentic systems across hardware industries
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Very strong at logical thinking and problem solving
- Experienced in deploying AI, ML or agentic systems in production
- Strong in data science, modelling, evaluation and experimentation
- Comfortable working with messy, incomplete operational data
- Practical, fast and execution-driven
- Autonomous and able to turn unclear problems into working systems
- Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and produce high-quality output
Relevant experience
Ideally you have experience with:
- AI agents, LLM-based systems or agentic workflows
- Machine learning, statistical modelling or anomaly detection
- Operational, time-series, hardware or IoT data
- Decision systems, alerting logic or automated workflows
- Python and modern AI tooling
- Production AI systems
Why join Lumina?
You will join a company already live in the market, with real customers, real data and real operational complexity.
You will help build the agentic intelligence layer that allows hardware operators to reduce manual work, make better decisions and automate operations at scale.
We offer a competitive salary and a meaningful equity package.
On-site requirement
The role is based in our Copenhagen office and requires being on-site.
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Timing
We are looking for someone to start no later than August 1st, 2026, but an earlier start is possible for the right candidate.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
