About the Opportunity

The team at EDGE has partnered with an innovative early-stage technology company that is seeking a Founding Full Stack Engineer to help build next-generation intelligent systems at the intersection of AI, automation, data infrastructure, medical technology, and advanced technical workflows.

This is a highly hands-on opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and wants to play a foundational role in shaping both product and architecture from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is a strong builder with deep full-stack engineering expertise, strong Python experience, and practical experience deploying production-grade systems and AI-enabled applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable full-stack applications and data-driven platforms
• Build backend services and APIs using Python
• Develop and maintain modern frontend applications
• Work with structured and unstructured data pipelines
• Implement AI-enabled workflows and production AI integrations
• Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions across infrastructure, applications, and data systems
• Support rapid product iteration and technical problem-solving
• Participate in system design discussions and technical evaluations
• Potentially coordinate external engineering or contractor resources as the team grows

Required Qualifications

• 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on full stack development background
• Deep proficiency in Python
• Experience building and deploying production-grade software systems
• Strong SQL/database experience
• Experience integrating AI/ML systems into real-world applications
• Ability to work independently in startup-style environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to balance speed, quality, and practical engineering judgment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:

• Graph databases
• Ontology-driven systems
• Document processing or knowledge systems
• Robotics or automation
• Medical device or life sciences industries
• AI orchestration or intelligent workflow systems
• Cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
• Technical leadership or contractor coordination
