Senior Full Stack Engineer
Indexed description
Company Overview:
- Complyance is a global e-invoicing and tax-compliance platform delivered as a single API. We help businesses go live with country-specific e-invoicing, starting with the UAE and KSA and extending to 100+ countries, in days rather than months. We are a UAE pre-approved Accredited Service Provider, with native Peppol support, a proprietary GETS framework, and a developer-first ethos. We're a Chennai-headquartered, fast-moving startup building category-defining infrastructure for global commerce.
Role Description:
- We're hiring Senior Full Stack Engineers to ship production features fast - in regulated markets, alongside AI coding agents. We care about what you can build and how you collaborate - not years on a résumé. If you already work fluently with AI coding agents, lead with a plan when given direction, and treat unfamiliar codebases as a ramp-up challenge rather than a blocker - read on.
What you'll Do:
- Ship end-to-end — design, build, test, and deploy production features against a regulated-product backdrop.
- Work fluently with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) - we're less interested in generation, more in orchestration.
- Critically review AI output - refactor, reject, or rewrite agent suggestions where they're wrong; be ready to speak to specific cases.
- Run multi-parallel workstreams - git worktrees for parallel feature development, multi-agent orchestration; comfort with parallel work is a core competency at this level
- Lead with "how" - when given a direction, propose the path; constructive challenge is welcome alongside a plan, not as a refusal.
- Switch context across 4–5 workstreams in parallel — pick up unfamiliar codebases and make meaningful progress in the same session.
- Mentor early-career engineers - including pairing on agent-driven workflows
- Contribute to team knowledge - bring at least one substantive tooling insight or workflow improvement to the team each month.
What we're looking for:
Must-Have:
- 2+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
- Strong CS fundamentals - algorithms, data structures, systems.
- Proficiency in front-end (React or similar) and back-end (Node.js / Express + MongoDB or SQL)
- You already use AI coding agents daily - you can speak to specific cases of agent output you rejected, and describe where agents make you faster vs. slower.
- Comfort with multi-parallel workflows - git worktrees, multiple feature branches, parallel agents or willingness to ramp in your first 3 months.
- Execution mindset - you respond to direction with a plan: "I tried X, hit Y, now thinking Z"
- Strong written and verbal communication - you document, surface blockers early, and give updates without being asked.
- Based in Chennai or willing to relocate
Good to Have:
- TypeScript in production.
- Next.js or similar modern frameworks.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) into production — extraction, validation, classification, automation.
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration tools (Claude Code worktrees, Aider, Devin, or homegrown setups).
- Background in regulated domains — compliance, fintech, e-invoicing, tax, or payments
- Open-source contributions or public technical writing.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
How we work:
A few things worth knowing before you apply:
- We respond to direction with a plan. Constructive challenges are welcome - alongside an alternative, at the right time.
- Unfamiliar work is the default. New codebase, new domain, new tooling - we expect you to use agents, docs, and your own judgment to ramp up.
- Tests, code review, and documentation are part of the job. Not afterthoughts. Not negotiable.
- Concerns come paired with priorities. If something will slow us down, we want to hear it - with what you'd cut or trade off to make it work.
- We're actively iterating on how we work. AI agents, git worktrees, multi-agent orchestration - we expect engineers to engage openly with that.
What we offer:
- Company-provided AI coding tools - Claude Code, Cursor, or similar paid plans.
- Dedicated learning time - Structured time set aside during the adoption window for AI tools and parallel workflow exploration.
- Honest, written feedback at 30, 60, and 90 days - no surprises at review time.
- Real autonomy on production features - not maintenance work.
- Direct exposure to compliance product decisions with regulatory partners (ZATCA, LHDN)
- CTC to be discussed at offer stage based on experience.
