As a Mid Software Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll design, build, and maintain backend services that support data flow across the platform and the wider organization. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and easy-to-integrate solutions, helping data product teams move faster and deliver value more efficiently. By building well-structured services, you’ll ensure data is accessible and usable across domains, contributing to a data mesh where data is trusted, discoverable, and reusable at scale.

How you create impact

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs for the data platform.
• Integrate with systems like Kafka, Snowflake, and AWS services.
• Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices.
• Work with data engineers and platform teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Contribute to system design, technical decisions, and agile development (Scrum).

• Experience in backend development (preferably Python) and building REST APIs in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka or event-driven architectures, and familiarity with AWS services.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, coding best practices, and testing approaches.
• Comfortable working in agile teams, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Clear communication skills, with fluent spoken and written English.
