Senior Software Engineer | Event-Sourcing & .NET Architecture | Leading Digital Health Platform #2926
Remote - Europe
The mission
Support Europe’s largest digital-first home care provider in a massive architectural evolution. Your mission is to rebuild a mission-critical technology platform from the ground up to be event-based, multi-tenant, and agent-ready. You will take charge of core domains—such as scheduling, finance, and care planning—ensuring that the new platform is resilient, audit-ready, and capable of scaling to meet the needs of millions of vulnerable individuals.
The Role
This is a high-stakes engineering role for a pragmatist who excels at bridging the gap between legacy foundations and modern, event-driven architectures.
- Architectural Leadership: Drive the design of a next-generation platform using .NET, Kafka, and Postgres, making choices that will define the company’s technical trajectory for years.
- Legacy Migration: Lead complex production migrations using the Strangler Fig or parallel-bridge patterns, ensuring zero downtime while shifting services to the new architecture.
- Event-Driven Excellence: Implement and manage production-grade Event-Sourcing and CQRS patterns to ensure full auditability and state integrity.
- Business Integration: Partner directly with Clinical, Finance, and Operations teams to understand real-world workflows before writing code, ensuring the software solves genuine operational friction.
- AI-Native Engineering: Integrate AI assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) into your daily workflow to accelerate delivery and refine the shared foundational framework.
- End-to-End Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of your services, from CI/CD and infrastructure (AWS/GCP) to deep observability and performance tuning.
The "Must-Haves"
- Technical Mastery: Senior-level command of .NET and C#; you should deeply understand the runtime and language, not just the syntax.
- Event-Sourcing & CQRS: Proven production experience building and maintaining systems based on Event-Sourcing (using tools like EventStore, Marten, or Akka.NET).
- Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms at significant scale.
- Database Design: Expertise in Postgres at scale, including experience with complex multi-tenant data patterns.
- DDD Expertise: Advanced understanding of Domain-Driven Design; you know how to draw bounded context lines that lower complexity and increase maintainability.
- Migration Strategy: A track record of successfully migrating live production systems onto new architectures without business interruption.
- Cloud & DevOps: Professional comfort owning infrastructure end-to-end (AWS or GCP), including CI/CD pipelines and observability stacks.
The "Bonus" Skills
- Regulated Industry Context: Experience in HealthTech, Fintech, Social Care, or Defense.
- Health Standards: Familiarity with NHS-adjacent frameworks (FHIR, SNOMED-CT, DTAC, or GP Connect).
- AI & LLMs: Experience building and monitoring LLM-powered features in a production environment (drift monitoring, evals).
- Algorithmic Depth: Background in building complex scheduling, matching, or constraint-solving algorithms.
Personal Traits
- Business Curiosity: You are driven to find out how the work actually happens in the real world rather than just building from a static spec.
- Ownership Instinct: You are a self-starter who spots systemic problems and takes responsibility for them without waiting for an assignment.
- Low Ego & High Collaboration: You value being part of a team, you are comfortable being wrong, and you prioritize the best solution over being right.
- Pragmatic Delivery: You focus on shipping the smallest viable thing that works, prioritizing iterative progress over incremental perfection.
- AI-Native Mindset: You have already integrated AI assistants into your core workflow and adapt quickly as technical stacks evolve.
