We’re partnering with a leading technology business undergoing major digital transformation across a variety of scaling brands. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team building a modern MACH-based platform powering 70+ websites and mobile apps at global scale.

The Role

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and building scalable backend systems that directly impact customer experience. This is a senior individual contributor role with real ownership, technical influence, and the opportunity to shape engineering best practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building scalable microservices using TypeScript and Node.js
• Designing and maintaining GraphQL and REST APIs
• Driving backend architecture, integrations, and system design
• Collaborating with Product, Frontend, and Platform teams
• Improving performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering standards
• Supporting CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Senior Backend Engineer in complex environments
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience building microservices and distributed systems
• Strong API design experience (GraphQL/REST)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of scalability, reliability, and modern engineering practices

Nice to Have

• MACH/composable commerce experience
• Cloud exposure (Azure preferred)
• Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or event-driven systems experience
